The German Federal Office for Information Security has advised against the use of Kaspersky products. Many of the points made by BSI are in relation to the nature of anti-virus products. Points include running at a high level of privilege, potential for data exfiltration through automatic sample submission and a constant connection to a vendor for definition updates. The agencies main concern is centered around Kaspersky being a Russian company and therefore have to operate under Russian law. The full advisory can be found on the German Federal Office for Information Securities website.
