A cyberattack that has temporarily impacted The Metropolitan Opera systems.

The website, the call center and the box office were all taken offline, unable to process new ticket orders or facilitate exchanges and refunds. All performances will run as scheduled, new ticket orders will be processed by the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. According to The Met General Manager, the FBI has been contacted.
According to some sources, the ransomware incident is not unique, other similar arts organizations were targeted, most likely by their association with a tech company providing digital marketing to various cultural organizations in several countries.
